We’re a whole month in…

Wow, wow, wow… We’re now one month in with Wild Sauna Club, and what a ride it’s been so far!

It’s been absolutely amazing welcoming each of you into our beautiful mobile sauna. Thank you for all your support – for your bookings, your follows and likes, your reviews. We’re blown away by how much you all love Steamy Wonder!

Launch night

Our launch night on Saturday 26th October, at Stoney Cove, for the Halloween swim, was incredible.

We had 42 of you sauna with us between 6pm and 9pm. It was frantic with lots of people hoping in the sauna after their swim, warming up, then literally running back to the water for a dip, and straight back into the sauna to warm up again. It was frenzied and fun and you all seemed to love it.

I soon realised that the best feedback was being ‘booed’ when each group’s 30 minutes were up.

What a start we had, it was amazing.

Stoney Cove

At Stoney Cove, we’ve now done three Friday daytimes and one Wednesday night, plus the launch night. Bookings for Wednesday nights are flying, they are super popular, and you need to get in quick if you want to get the timeslot that works best for you. We have an almost sold-out Wednesday night event on the 20th of November, then the December dates are the 4th and the 18th.

I’m sat here overlooking the cove writing this blog post on Friday 15th November, this has been our busiest Friday for bookings so far. We tend to be busy in the morning for the 9am, 10am, and 11am sessions, and then are quieter for the lunchtime and afternoon sessions.

We have been getting groups of swimmers have their swim on a Friday morning and then book out a whole 55-minute session in the sauna (7 hot seats). They warm up for about 15 minutes, then head back to the water for a dip and a quick swimble, then back to the heat of the sauna. Most groups can fit in about three dips and 4 sessions in the sauna – ending on heat makes it nice and easy to get dressed afterwards because you have fully functioning hands and fingers!

Some of our groups are regular Friday swimmers, some have come together for a birthday and bring cakes with them. It really is a super way to start your weekend.

Worth saying that not everyone who comes for a sauna at Stoney Cove is a swimmer. We’ve had lots of non-swimmers sauna with us. It’s a great venue to sauna and have a coffee, so don’t think you have to enter the water!

Quick shoutout to the team at Stoney Cove and Nemo’s pub and restaurant – they have all been so welcoming and accommodating. Everyone has come and had a look at the sauna and has been promoting it to visitors to the cove – thank you to all of them!!!!

Swim Six Hills

On Sunday 10th November we ran our trial sauna pop-up event at Swim Six Hills near to Melton Mowbray. We had 30-minute sessions from 10am till 1pm, they sold out so quickly we added an extra session at 1pm.

The set up there is perfect for sauna and cold water – there is either the main swim session from 10am - 11.30am available to book, or they now have a new ‘winter dip’ available. This is an area just next to where we set up the sauna, where you can literally have a little dip or swimble, with a lifeguard on hand to keep everyone safe.

We had people who just came to sauna, who did the main swim and sauna, and who did the sauna and a dip.

And the feedback was fantastic! By the end of the trial event, we’d already put the next event in the diary with the team there and we’d decided to make it a ‘weekender’ rather than just one day. Instead of 42 hot seats available to book, we now have 84 across Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December.

However, this sauna weekender has been so popular, as I type, there is only 1 space left!

Thank you so much to Matt and Claire at Swim Six Hills, and to everyone who had a sauna with us in November and has booked for December. A great venue, great people, and a great sauna pop-up!

Keep your eyes on our socials for the launch of the January dates for booking.

Where next?

We’re now ready to start adding in extra venues and opening up sauna availability to more people – and not just open water swimmers.

It’s been a steep learning curve over the past month, and we needed to test the set-up and get used to everything before adding more places in, but now we’re ready to level up.

The questions is, where do you want us? Let us know hello@wildsaunaclub.co.uk
