Hello, I’m Laura, the founder of Wild Sauna Club.

My journey into sauna all stemmed from my love of outdoor swimming… Having got bored with indoor pool life, I started open water swimming in 2012.

As it’s massively taken off it’s allowed more venues and safe locations to open up, meaning I have been able to become a regular and year round outdoor swimmer.

The main issue with winter swimming (and let’s face it, most UK summer swimming) is warming up afterwards and trying to avoid the slightly scary ‘afterdrop’ experience.

So I was delighted during a 2024 Easter holiday in Cornwall, to discover the mobile sauna scene.

Going from sea to sauna was absolutely epic. After some research it was clear that mobile saunas were popping up all around the British coastline, but we were lacking in inland outdoor sauna opportunities.

I made it my mission to sort this out and offer mobile community sauna sessions in the East Midlands, mainly across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

In August 2024, I put my brave pants on and Wild Sauna Club was born.

For me, sauna is all about mental health and wellness benefits, coupled with the amazing chats and community you find in the sauna.
